Question : My daughter is suffering adverse reaction to synthroid. She has been taking for several years with no problem. I understand today's synthroid is a new formulation and according to her Dr. he has other patients experiencing problems. Any reports on this? Does Abbvie still offer the previous formulation? Should we have been advised of a formulation change?

I can understand your concern regarding to your daughter's health.
There are some kind of adverse reactions caused by levothyroxine.
Allergic ones are very rare, in these cases there are gel caps that do not contain the dyes compounds of levothyroxine tablets.
Would you please specify the side effects she has and the dose of levothyroxine she is using?
Are her thyroid hormones within the normal ranges with the actual dose?
