Treatment of cancer stem cells is still under research.

Hello

Chemotherapy is commonly used in treatment in many cancers. It causes its effect by inducing cell death in tumors and reducing tumor size.
After initial response,some tumour may show resistance to chemotherapy.
Development of resistance is a complex process and it may be due to many factors like alteration of drug metabolism,derangement of intracellular signal pathway,alteration at membrane receptors,modification of apoptotic signaling etc.

Resistance can be overcome by genetic level modification and it is still under research.Use of cancer stem cells is one of the option.

For practical purpose,cancer stem cells treatment can be done but we shouldn't expect much.

It may be due to chemotherapy resistance.These chemotherapeutic agents are used in metastatic colorectal cancer which is difficult to manage.
Other drugs or combination of drugs can be tried.
