Question: i have a boyfriend for 8 months now and his ex wife for 20 years is a sex addict and just learned that she had an outbreak of Herpes Simplex 2 virus about 10 years ago and is on viral med ever since 2007, and she had chlamydia after they separated March 2015. My boyfriend was not aware of the extra marital affairs until he caught her Sept 2014 and started counseling and therapy for sex addiction but was unsuccessful and ended up in divorce. My boyfriend and I have no premarital sex and very intentional about our relationship until marriage. But now that i learned about this, I am concerned that he may be infected and a carrier but no manifestation. He had been tested several times even HIV but it is all negative. I am very sensitive and I dont take medications and practices holistic lifestyle and very promiscuous. I am fearful that I can be at risk once we get married . I would like to know the precautionary measures that we both can take and if he can be tested with more specific lab tests. My boyfriend is an athlete and lives a healthy lifestyle and expresses that he never had an STD or any outbreak. What do I do?

correction for my question,...I am not Promiscuous ever,...it was his ex wife for 20 years and even prior to their marriage was very promiscuous but my boyfriend never had any sex partner except within the marriage and remained faithful and also celibate now since January 2015. He was just very trusting and believed everything she said until caught.

I am very healthy and faithful and committed to the relationship and would like to get this resolved

Brief Answer:
You are less likely to get STD from your boyfriend

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome
I have gone through your query.
In the absence of positive STD tests, you are less likely to get sexually transmitted diseases from him. In a nutshell, based on the information, you are fine.

You can ask you boyfriend to repeat the tests and along with him you could also go for STD tests.

Some STDs can also be transmitted by using sharing personal items and after using dirty public toilets ( genital herpes and genital warts). So sharing of personal things like clothes, towels, inner clothes, personal grooming equipment should be avoided. That is the reason I am asking you to go for STD test.
Hope this helps and best of luck
Take care
