Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

I am a training cardiologist and i will explain things to you.

You blood pressure is just on the upper limit , rather a bit above upper limit in case of both systolic and diastolic pressures.

At them moment according to books you do not need any medication for immediate lowering only if this is occasional and happens for a short period. But if it stays high regularly then you have to change your life style snd try to control it with life style modifications, if it doesn't grt controlled by that then only you need medication.

Here is what you should do at the moment.

1) Dont drink much water.
2) Keep a chek at your BP if crosses 170 or diastolic crosses 110 contact a doctor immediately.
3) Reduce salt intake to much extent.
4) Do not take any stimulant like cigarettes, fizzy drinks, coffee, caffein.
5) Avoid stress, better take a nap.
6) Make a 5 day BP chart by taking BP twice a day at home and visit your cardiologist with that chart.
7) If one wanted to lower your BP at the moment I would have suggestes a diuretic tablet like furosemide 40mg to my similar patient or an amlodipine 5mg , you can discuss these drugs with your doctor.

I hope this answered your question, a
if you have more please feel free to ask.

Brief Answer:
They are diuretics.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for writing back,

it is a drug of group "loop diuretics" it causes one to urinate more and lose water,

Losing water reduces volume of blood in vessels which lowers blood pressure. These are usually safe drugs for short term use specially.

Regards.
