Question: Hi I am 26 year old married. I was supposed to get my period on April 7th but did not get it yet. I had urine tests done which came up negative. I had ultra sound scan done, it showed 2cm cyst in my right ovary. So my gynecologist advised me to take Meprate twice in 5 days. I missed one of my dosage but continued the medicine. its been three days since I finished my dosage. I have not started my period yet. could you please advise

Brief Answer:
Oral contraceptives may be required. Upload relevant test reports

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I can certainly understand your concern.

I have worked through your attached query in detail.

It's important to consider oral contraceptive pills ( oral hormonal pills) at the earliest to induce menstrual cycle.

I can guide you thoroughly if you can upload a the relevant test reports on " upload reports" column on our website. Also please specify date of your last sexual activity.

The possibility of polycystic ovaries should be thoroughly ruled out.

Please check with your physician if she shares my view and if can prescribe these medications to you.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your advise. I was really worried that it could be a case of polycystic ovaries syndrome. unfortunately I do not have my reports with me right now to share them with you.
I had a second ultra sound test done on the following day which showed "normal in size show multiple small follicles in the parenchyma"
Are there any chances that I could be pregnant, would that be a possibility which is causing a delay. I have been having white discharge which does not have any foul smell.

Could you please advise.

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy can be a viable option

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I can certainly understand your concern

Pregnancy can be a significant viral possibility in PCOS (normal sized multiple follicles).

Period regularisation is important via oral contraceptive medication.

In extreme cases, invitro fertilization can be a viable option which is achieved with ovulation induction drugs.
