Question: I had sex with a girl wearing a condom, we got up i put my penis back in my boxers with the condom still on, took the condom off later, but kept the boxers on not realzing her juices were on the boxers from the condom. I'm really scared she might have had herpes not sure why but I'm freaking out and have had burning on the head but no lesions its been 7 days. i have a weak immune system and that would be my luck. what are my odds do i need to get checked?

Brief Answer:
You should test for herpes

Detailed Answer:
hello. thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist and venereologist). i have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.

herpes virus is not transmitted indirectly through fomites like clothes, towels, glass sharing. The virus is usually acquired by direct innoculation from infected surfaces/ secretion e.g during the act of sexual intercourse or kissing. Moreover the virus does not survive outside the body for more than a few seconds and gets killed in dried secretions. Anyhow you should test for herpes because a condom does not protect 100% against transmission of virus. This is because a condom covers only a part of shaft of penis and does not cover base of penis or scrotum which can come in direct contact with vaginal secretions during sexual intercourse. hence you should test for herpes.
