Detailed Answer:
My Dear Madam
Welcome to this site!
I am Dr V XXXXXXX a Sr Dermatologist and I have analyzed your case including both the pics.
I will be helping you to understand and deal with the problem.
Tailors Bunion are the swellings that might involve soft tissues and or bony structures of the joint just proximal to the fifth toe or sometimes the first toe. These are result of constant sitting in a posture typical of tailors who keep sitting long hours with their outer margins of feet pressed against the hard floor.
In this case, I find that swelling and roughness are confined to soft tissue and there is hardly any bony involvement, as per visual examination of pics. (an X ray is definitive). It is likely to have resulted from ill fitting footwear or postural considerations.
This needs to be dealt with by suitable changes in posture, padding, anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen (if symptomatic), proper footwear and rest.
Salicylic acid containing preparations are a great help when applied locally to scale off the thickened skin.
I would have advised an X ray of the part to any patient attending with me in person to ensure that person stays healthy in future by taking appropriate action.
I believe I have addressed your concerns. It would be a pleasure to answer any queries.
Best wishes
