Suggest Ways To Wean Off Dalmane

Question : My question is about my mother I have dis overed she is dependent on dalmane in the last 5 days there are 22 15mg tablets missing from her prescription and she has had side effects such as inability to walk personality change what can I do to make her see the problem and also how dangerous is this. She is71 with beri beri copd and a range of medical problems. She is also on lexotan 5mg prn and weighs 7 stone any advice would be much appreciated.

I read your question and i understand your concern. Dalmane / flurazepam is a sedative hypnotic and its use should not be discontinued as it may lead to adverse effects. Inability to walk is gait ataxia and may be a sequelae of missing flurazepam pills. Personality disorders may be connected or a separate entity. All these symptoms can be pretty much connected to beri beri she has .

Nutshell, as far as dalmane prescription is concerned, talk to her doctor and investigate the missing pill yourself to rule out any drug overdose she might have done. Rest she needs a thorough physical examination to sort out the symptoms and correlate them clinicaly.
