Question : Hello! I am wondering if you can badly withdraw from .25 -.5 mg Xanax. I take a pill maybe 3-4 times a week. Mostly just .25mg but sometimes .5mg if the anxiety is very bad. I have been doing this for 2 years. There are times where I go a week or more without take any Xanax. But if I were to stop for good, would there be any danger in stopping cold turkey? Thank you!
Brief Answer:
from your history there is no likely danger
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome back.
I appreciate your decision to stop xanax.
You are not taking xanax daily.Dose whenever you take is also low 0.25 to 0.5 mg.There is time when you do not take it for week or more. These all factors suggest that you are not physically dependent on xanax. Stopping cold turkey would not cause any danger symptoms.
For frequent anxiety, consultation of a psychiatrist will help as discussed in our previous communication.
