Symptoms :- I Had Mild Neck Pain About 1 Month

Question: Symptoms :- I had mild neck pain about 1 month ago. So I visited Doctor, and during investigation is was found that I had Vitamin D3, B12 deficiency and high Uric acid levels (7.5 mg/dL). I was prescribed Febuxostat 40, once a day after breakfast. I took it for around 1 month. After dosage was over, I again got Uric acid tested after 15 days, but surprisingly Uric acid levels were even higher (8.3 mg/dL). Please suggest some remedial measures. ðð»

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor,
Thanks for your query.
I have gone through your query. Your uric levels are normal actually. Treatment by mediicnes are not required.
Uric acid levels take some time to reduce. You need to do diet restriction along with medications. Avoid red meat and take a lot of water 3-4 lts per day.
I would suggest you to repeat uric acud levels after 2 weeks in a good lab with proper blood sample. Not the instant test like glucometer.
I hope this helps you. If you have any doubts please feel free to discuss further.
Regards,

8.3 mg/dL is normal ?? Medicines are required or not ? pls advise
Brief Answer:
As explained below.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Sorry for the delay.
Normal uric acid levels for adult male is 4.0-8.5 mg/dL. So yours is at higher end. I would suggest you wait for a month or two and follow diet restrictions and exercise. If the levels are increasing even after 2 months then can restart on medicines and will have to continue it. If your neck pain has reduced, you can stop the medicines.
I hope this helps. If you have any doubts please feel free to discuss further.
