Detailed Answer:
Hi and Welcome to Ask A Doctor service. I have read your question and here is my advice.
Sorry to hear of your pain and discomfort.
Infact if there is any element of choking in taking pills or food , this becomes an emrgency and we advis Peopel to move to the ER for proper assessment.
Causes of throat pain are many , if not for long time ; mostly it may be infection like virus or sometimes fungal. Sometimes ulcers in throat may also be painful.
Whatever , once there is difficulty in eating pills , or food I would strongly recommend you should see your doctor to have a look on your throat .That will aslo see as what can be the cause but also see as you may need liquid medicine or sometimes injection if you cannot take tablets .
Hopes it's helps .Let me know if you have any thing else to ask.
Kind Regards Dr Rahman
