Question: Taking firmagon 80mg (off label use) since 5 months but started with 120mg instead of 240mg. Is this the reason, I do not get the full T reduction effects? What to do? Restart with 240mg? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Please see the appropriate dosage below

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor".

Since the gender and age you have provided are not compatible with the question, given that Firmagon is a synthetic hormone used to treat prostate cancer, I am going to assume that you are asking the question for someone else. This is relevant because you need to make sure they consult with their doctor before making any changes in drug dosage.

Firmagon is usually administered in two separate injections of 120 mg (240 mg in total) and then an 80 mg injection is administered every 28 days. The results are evaluated after 12 months. Please consult with your doctor about the possibility of a change in dosage based on test results.

I hope this answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
Continue with current dose

Detailed Answer:

At this point I have to ask. Did a doctor prescribe this therapy for you? If so, I advise you to continue with the current dose.

If not, then I strongly advise you to consult a doctor before taking another dose. A complete physical evaluation is required prior to taking this drug.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
