Question: How can i get off predizone of 30 years. 10 mg for chrones Any news meds. Chrones is doing great at 64 mo surgery for 23 years

Hello! Thanks for putting your query in XXXXXXX I am a Gastroenterologist (DM).

These are few medications which is used for steroid sparing Crohn's:
1. Budesonide- It is a steroid but this doesn't have any systemic side effect of prednisolone. It is given in dose of 9mg/day in three divided doses.
2. Azathiopurine: Is an immunomodulator given in dose of 2 to 2.5mg/kg
3. Injection methotrexate 25mg in a week

So discuss with your treating doctor for the suitability of the any of the above agent
