Question : Thank you for reaching out to me. I am waiting to get a holter monitor in the next week or two. Once I have some result, I will give you an update and would appreciate your feedback.

I have noticed that my episodes also flare up at night after eating late. Because it never happens during waking hours, only when I am sleep. With the exception of exercise of course.

I am glad to discuss with you again on Ask a Doctor service!

It seems that GERD could play an important role in all this clinical situation, as the symptoms are triggered by laying down position or eating late.

For this reason, I would recommend using a PPI ( omeprazole, pantoprazole, etc.) or an antiacid before sleep, and see if your situation improves.

Anyway, the loop recorder or a prolonged Holter monitoring would give much more information on the heart rate during these episodes and exclude possible cardiac arrhythmia.
