i didn5 understand that regarding the metronidazole gel. i will ask gp if i can try that next time.
In the meantime id be grateful if you could possibly reply to the questions in my previous post regarding how to make use of the three treatments i currently possess and if liquid differin instead of gel and 2.5%25 BP might be better (things i can probably get without GP prescription here in uk). do you think for acne prevention as differin stopped working in past a combimation treatment like epiduo is a good idea?
Thanks for your time XXXXXXX Newnham
Sensitive skin gets inflamed with medicines also
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.
I have reviewed your query and previous query and here is my advice.
In case of sensitive and irritated skin its better to avoid applying any medicine. Any medicine can further inflame the skin. I usually suggest to avoid any medicine, cosmetic and harsh soaps on such skin. The chemicals that are to be avoided are allergens, irritants, menthol. propylene glycol, calamine, preservatives. So this eliminates basically most of soaps. cosmetics and medicines. Use only Syndet soaps. I personally prefer XXXXXXX XXXXXXX Tattva sandal soap as sandal has calming effect and this soap doesnt have irritants. voiding any irritants will reduce the inflammation in few weeks.
So I will suggest not to apply metrogyl, differin or epiduo.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
