Brief Answer:
Possibly due to viral cause. Management is supportive.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone carefully through the details and understand your concern. Most often such symptoms are due to viral infections and antibiotics are ineffective in such cases. Irrespective of treatment it usually spontaneously resolves in 5-7 days. You need not worry unless the stool is blood stained. However, the water and salts lost due to diarrhea need to be replenished. ORS (oral rehydration solution) is the mainstay of treatment and needs to be given. A home based alternative would be to mix six (6) level teaspoons of Sugar, Half (1/2) level teaspoon of Salt, One Litre of clean drinking water i.e. 5 cupfuls (each cup about 200 ml.) and to give it sip by sip. If the child is otherwise active and playful you need not worry.
Regards.

Thank you I was wondering if we need to do the solution if he has had chicken broth and water and formula starting Saturday.

Brief Answer:
Chicken broth is fine.

Detailed Answer:
Chicken broth water would do. However, if loose stools are continuing, it would still make sense to give ORS alongwith.
