Question: The other day, I was arm wrestling with my friend and after we finished I had a very intense pain in the section between my forearm and bicep, and in my shoulder. The pain went away but anytime I use that arm to lift items or play basketball or anything I get very extreme pain. What might be causing this? My arm feels completely normal when not using it.

Brief Answer:
It can be a sprain or contusion.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
As per your description it seems like a minor sprain or contusion. Major muscle tear or rupture is unlikely.
As of now you can use over the counter available analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/seratiopeptdase for symptomatic relief. Couple of weeks of immobilisation or at least avoiding strenuous activities as you mentioned may be helpful.
If symptoms persists we can go for an MRI scan.
Thanks
