Question : The skin on my finger tips is tough, much like the skin over a large blister after it has broken open. It splits open which is painful. It has gotten progressively worse. What is it and can I get ride of it?

I think you can try some tips to keep them hydrated and prevent activities which worsen them.
Use gloves often when you wash dishes, clothes or do gardening.
Use hydration creams especially petroleum jelly to moisturise them. Apply to hands, wear gloves and keep overnight.
Protect them from cold weather wearing gloves.
