Question : There’s bruising around a dog bite on my leg but all wounds are scabbed over and there have been no excretions from the affected area at all. Is the bruising just a part of the healing/inflammatory process then and not from infection?

The dog is not mine and she is up to date on all vaccinations. This bite was 6 days ago. I only have pain around the affected area. It used to be hard to walk but not anymore. I am not vaccinated for rabies virus.

Brief Answer:
As explained below
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback and photo.
The photo shows the following:
The healing of skin wounds is acceptable.
The central part is yellowish (if not of any ointment or liquid) and may indicate cellulitis, fat necrosis, or infection that may be settling.
There is a lot of bruising which may be a part of healing.
I would advise you the following:
Get examined by your doctor, preferably a General Surgeon.
Tests of blood to see whether WBC is normal or raised.
High-Resolution Ultrasonography of the affected area to know the status of the area under the skin.
This area can have internal problems yet may not show up easily hence the need for investigations.
I hope you are taking some anti-inflammatory and maybe some antibiotic was taken.
I also hope this answers your query and helps you.
If the reports are normal then the worry is less and if at all anything is positive then the Doctor would treat you accordingly.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
