This Follows My Exchange With You Over The Last Few

Question: This follows my exchange with you over the last few days. I have some more quest
1) are there alternatives to surgery or new treatments for acl which you would recommend (coil, sponge, etc)
2) is there a difference in the rate and approach of arthritis with various approaches?
3) I am walking regularly without any pain at this point (2 weeks from the injury) and have had no buckling of the knee - is this usual for an acl tear (and from the report it say I have a low grade mcl tear as well)?
My MRI was attached in the previous exchange. Thank you..

Brief Answer:
Surgery is still the best available treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The other treatment modalities that you have read online are still under research and have a poor success rate. Surgery is still the best available treatment.
The rate of approach of arthritis varies from person to person and cannot be predicted beforehand. Proper physiotherapy can delay such changes.
Usual walking is possible without pain. Stressful activities like climbing stairs can be painful. Gradually the muscles nearby will gain strength and keep the knee stable.
Hope this answers your questions.
