Question: This is regarding myself. Last month 2-3 nights I felt anxious with sleep disorder. This increased my BP to 150/90. My treating doctor started Escilotopram 5 mg, Clonazepam .25 mg, Olmesartan 20 mg and pentroprazole 40 mg. The doses started from 5.8.2019. Initially after the treatment there was headaches, dizziness, nausea- which slowly got improved and I was much better. From 26.8.2019, my Escilotopram 5mg was increased to 10 mg as per advise of doctor. Since Wednesday i.e., from 28.8.2019 again there was headache and nausea. I am afraid. Is it due to increased dose of Escilotopram? My other test reports are all normal. Should I switch back to 5 mg?

Brief Answer:
You can switch back to 5 mg.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.

I have noted your clinical symptoms and current medications. Escitalopram and clonazepam are used for treating depression and anxiety. You had shown good response to Escitalopram at a dose of 5 mg, and developed side effects at a dose of 10 mg. Therefore, I would suggest you to reduce the dose to 5 mg once daily, after discussing with your doctor.

I sincerely hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
