Question : Today I noticed a black spot under my foot near the ball of my big toe. Should I be concerned? I leave on a 6 week tour this week.

It is on the pressure point and if it is recent, then most likely it is a hematoma. Hematomas have a short history and can be a source of confusion. Hematomas usually resolve within a few days.
