Question : 22 year old male international student constipation with bloody stool... for 8 months had colonoscopy dec. 2013 nothing was found... GI told me..drink more water/eat more fiber.. went to GI here and he told me same thing... said he could repeat colonoscopy.. if i wanted... I went and got tested for stds-- nothing got tested for leukemia--- nothing scared/worried... is it really just water and fiber? :(

Brief Answer: Exam per parasite and candida.... Detailed Answer: Hi I read carefully all your concerns and I understood. I am glad to know that your endoscopy is normal and STD’s tests are negative. I would advice to change your lifestyle to avoid constipation: - Drink plenty of water( 2-3 L per day) - Use fruits and vegetables reached in fibers - Avoid banana - Increase your physical activity ( swimming, walking, running) - Use packets of fibers - Try to control stress As long as nothing was found in colonoscopy, there is nothing to be worried about. Your lifestyle as a student will take less time for physical activity resulting in constipation and blood in stool. I would also advise to avoid anal sex and perform fecal exams like : - Fecal blood occult -Culture for candid and bacteria If you have other concerns I would be glad to assist you further. I read through the EGD which states: peptic ulcer grade 1... Hiatal hernia, H. pylori is speculated... colonoscopy states... anal fissure found in one of the veins

Brief Answer: Suggested treatment for peptic ulcer&anal fissure. Detailed Answer: Hi back, Thank you for following up. You are reporting to be suffering of peptic ulcer grade 1 and hiatal hernia and anal fissures. The very first thing is to treat your peptic ulcer because it is often associated with changes in bowel movements (including constipation). The best treatment include PPI (proton-pump-inhibitors) + antiacids + antibiotic (as H.pylori is speculated). Diet changes are also important to improve your symptoms. The anal fissures seen in the colonoscopy is due to severe constipation. I advise to: - keep a good anal hygiene - wash your anus with chamomile tea - can use anal cream containing lidocaine to reduce pain and local inflammation (e.g. doloproct) Hope it was of help! One last question... I tested positive for Herpes simplex I.. could it be causing this problem?? Please let me know..

Brief Answer: Your problems are not caused by Herpes simplex Detailed Answer: Hi again, The problems with constipation you are facing are not caused by Herpes simplex. The anal fissure you are experiencing is caused by either severe constipation and/or anal sex. I'd suggest to avoid anal sex and to follow the advice as given earlier. Hope this helps! Dr.Klerida
