Brief Answer:
Needs a little more investigating work done, could be Polycythemia Vera

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXXXXX

Thank you for writing in with your health query and uploading the investigations done so far.

I have studied all the attached reports and I noticed that you consistently have elevated RBC counts, and WBC counts are often on the higher side.

This could indicate a problem in the process of blood cell formation in the bone marrow, leading to excess production of blood cells.

It can be primary polycythemia ( polycythemia rubra vera).

To make a proper diagnosis, I would request you to kindly get in touch with a hematologist and request for a bone marrow aspiration cytology and also get a peripheral smear study of the blood done.

If you smoke tobacco, then that could very well cause such elevated RBC counts.

Do not worry, though, regular blood donation is all that is required to stay healthy.

Get these test done and consult a hematologist and you can write back to me if you need further clarification.

I hope you will find this answer useful.

Best regards

Thank you for your inputs. I had already consulted hematologist. Mpn reflex panel (jak2 and other mutations) was negative on blood. Peripheral smear no findings till date and erythropoietin was in normal range. (11.8 ).
Also I am not a smoker. My spo2 is around 95 to 98 most of the times.

Do you still feel it's necessary for bone marrow aspiration.?

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Bone aspiration cytology is the gold standard investigation for this.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr. XXXXXXX

Bone marrow aspiration cytology is the definitive investigation for this issue.

Peripheral smear study might add some value too.

Please go ahead with bone marrow study and discuss with your hematologist.

Hope that answers your query, I apologise for the delay in answering as it was my weekly off.
