Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns about the persistent itching and tenderness in the area of your previous pilonidal cyst.

**Itching and tenderness:**

* **Residual inflammation:** Sometimes, even after the cyst itself is gone, some lingering inflammation can persist in the tissue, leading to irritation and itching.
* **Scarring:** Scar tissue formation after healing can also contribute to itching and tenderness in the area.
* **Skin irritation:** Frequent gauze packing and use of hibiclens, though helpful for hygiene, can sometimes irritate the skin, leading to itching and discomfort.

* **Pilonidal cyst recurrence:** Although you haven't mentioned any visible signs of recurrence, keep in mind that pilonidal cysts can recur, especially without proper wound care and management of risk factors.
* **Hibiclens usage:** While hibiclens is effective for hygiene, avoid excessive use as it can disrupt the skin's natural microbiome and potentially worsen irritation.
Anxiolytic like clonazepam would help to reduce anxiety.
