Brief Answer: This could be due to Diabetic Nephropathy. Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the facts and report of your father that you have posted it appears that your father who is known to have diabetes since 20 years has undergone bypass surgery month back and had high creatinine levels after surgery and was dialysed four times. Urea and creatinine are end products of protein metabolism and excreted by kidney in urine The persons with ill controlled diabetes over a period of long time are prone to get changes of diabetic nephropathy resulting into diminished function of the kidneys which is indicated by raised levels of blood urea and serum creatinine The report of ultrasound scanning and urine culture show normal sized kidneys with no element of infective process in the kidneys.L Please consult qualified Nephrologist to keep his diabetes and creatinine levels well controlled.at this level of 2mg% which is quite satisfactory and acceptable for his age. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask me I shall be happy to help you . Thanks and Regards. Dr.Patil.
