Question: Welcome to 'Ask a Doctor'. Please type your question here...I have insterstitial markings on my lungs the radiology report in both x rays says it’s likely small airway diesease I had a cat scan and lung function test they say it’s inflammation Isn’t lung diesease inflammation?

I did smoke just quit and an asmatic if it was interstitial lung diesease the cat scan would have found it? Or would the pulmonary lung function test find it

These are mostly healed, fibrotic scars.

If PFT and CT are normal then these interstitial markings are healed fibrotic scars.
And in the this scenario, they will present as it is lifelong.
