Question : Welcome to 'Ask a Doctor'. Please type your question here...hello , I have a chronic hives.
I got a severe hives all over my body.
I got prescribed prednisone , starting at 60 mg per day.Unfortunately the dosage was not enough and I woke with hives all over my body.
I wanted to ask how much to increase the dosage until I see my doctor on Tuesday and to do it safely.
It is my 3rd day , 60 mg was not enough and with 55 mg the hives completely came back

If you are not hypertensive and not diabetic you can safely increase the dose upto 80 mg of prednisone daily for few days.
