Question : What are casts? My 13 year old XXXXXXX had 5-10. Dr. did not say abormal.

In urine there are small particulate materials which are basically cellular debris. As the urine passes through narrow tubules, these become compressed and moulded in the shape of these tubules. These are called casts. A certain number of them are acceptable. It is normal in case of your child.
