Brief Answer: DETAILS ARE GIVEN BELOW. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for writing to us. If your friend receives STD including HIV from other and involves in unprotected sex with his partner, then there is GREATER chance of transmission. However, their RECENT test result is NEGATIVE as per information. If they do the test soon after sex, then possibility of negative result is quite high and it DOESN'T exclude RECENT infection. Here, I suggest to REPEAT all the tests including HIV (PCR-DNA test) after 28 days of exposure OR sexual intercourse. Your friend can consult with healthcare provider regarding this. Lastly, he must use CONDOM in future to avoid STD. Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query. Wish your good health and take care yourself. Regards, Dr Soumen
