Brief Answer:
NO

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry that the severe bladder infection that you suffered. Bladder infection, single episode, caused by bacteria infection is not an additional risk factor for cancer of the bladder. We all have had bladder infection at least once in our lives and, if that were the case we would all be having bladder cancer!...NO, this simply not the case.

We are all at risk to have bladder cancer because we have a bladder. However, this risk is not higher than in the general population because of a single severe bladder infection. Be relaxed and not get unnecessarily tensed by this.

Please, cigarettes smoking, alcohol about and exposure to rubber products are risk factors for cancer of the bladder. Other infections like schistosomiasis(This is not what you had) that present with blood if not treated over a long period also constitute a risk factor. Do all to avoid these contributing factors!

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarification should need be. Thanks for using our services.
