Brief Answer:
Less side effects

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

Augmentin is one of the safest antibiotics available. All antibiotics alter normal flora of skin and intestine and may cause development of superinfection with candida etc. This may result in symptoms like itchiness of skin, long term diarhea, etc. If it is taken for long times it can cause clostridium difficile infection which is hard to treat.

If used for 3 - 5 days, its quite safe.
