What Are Progesterone Injections Used For During Pregnancy?

Question: This question is regarding my wife. She is 5 weeks pregnant. She has a history of one missed abortion in Nov 2013. She recently had a BETA HCG and progesterone test on advice of the doc. Her HCG level came as 6040.52 mlU/mL and progesterone as 11 ng/mL. The doctor has said HCG level is good but progesterone is low as normal value should be around 25 at weeks pregnancy. She was given Hucog HP 2000 injections twice a week and 2 tabs of 200 Mg of Miprogen twice a day vaginally. This comes out to be 800 mg daily of Miprogen daily.
I just wanted to ask is this ok? Will it not cause overdose of progesterone? Any why Hucog HP 2000 inj is given when HCG levels are ok in the test report?
