Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that heart catheterization (coronary angiography) is the most exact test (golden standard) for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease (or heart blood clogging as you mention).

The only problem is that this is an invasive procedure, which is associated to an increased risk for a number of complications such as:

- cardiac arrhythmia
- allergic reaction to the contrast substance
- infection
- stroke
- heart attack
- bleeding
- injury to the arteries
- radiation exposure.

Anyway, if suspicions of coronary artery disease are raised based on your symptomatology and cardiac stress test results, it is necessary to perform this test, which may also be useful for possible endo-vascular treatment with stent implantation in the narrowed coronary arteries.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
