default
Posted on Thu, 3 Apr 2014
Question: I was getting into the car yesterday in a bit of a hurry and hit my head on the door frame. Is concussion unlikely? My head hurt a little bit but I don't have usual concussion symptoms. (I'm feeling really tired though).

Brief Answer: No treatment required. Detailed Answer: Dear Friend. Welcome again. I don't think you have any bleeding due to trauma. Concussion can be there. But since you don't have any problem, you don't require any treatment as such. You may still get a CT Head to be sure. If you have any vertigo, headache post trauma, then treatment is required, else not. If you have any query further, please ask me, else you may please close the discussion and rate it. Stay Healthy.

Okay, thank you but I can't have any scans. Is it still slight concussion if there's no headache or vertigo or vomitting?

Brief Answer: Neuroimaging is required for definitive diagnosis. Detailed Answer: Dear Friend. As i told you, based on clinical symptoms, you don't have concussion. For a definitive diagnosis you need Neuroimaging. But you don't require it also, since you don't have any symptoms. So, stop thinking about it. Stay Healthy and Happy.
