Brief Answer:
The route explained below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for asking me directly.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

In the ventriculoatrial shunting procedure, a ventricular catheter is placed through a burr hole ( on frontal or occipital bone ) into the fluid filled cavity of brain and together with an unidirectional valve is fixed under the skalp skin.

After that a thin tube is passed under the skin with a rigid guide towards the side part of the neck.

The internal jugular vein is pierced then and the thin tube is guided by a flexible gourde into the jugular vein to the superior vena cava and right atrium of the heart controlled with ultrasound and fluoroscopy.

Then the system is connected and secured.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

I remain at your disposal for further questions and clarifications.

Greetings.
