Question : My 17 month old daughter ate a melatonin.
Brief Answer:
Watch for 12 hours.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.
There are no studies on the effect of melatonin agonists on children.
Anyhow, serious adverse effects from a single dose is not expected.
Just watch her for about 12-16 hours(it takes about 12 hours for complete removal from body).
There can be some disturbance in the sleep pattern for one day.If she appears excessively drowsy, irritable(headache),or nauseous, kindly see your doctor.Otherwise, need not be worried.
Hope i have answered your query.
Wishing everything to be fine.
Thank you.
