Question: 33 year old female. Underwent emergency appendix removal larascopically at 7am on Sunday eastern standard time. supposed to fly to hawaii from Indiana on Friday at night. Surgeon said it was ok, but would like a second opinion. appendix had not ruptured. Was released from hospital at 6 pm eastern standard time tonight. Am worried about dvt and making things worse.

As the appendix is not ruptured, there will be no problem after Laparoscopic surgery.
Chances of DVT after Laparoscopic surgery are less as you will be mobilised soon.
DVT after surgery is common in prolonged Immobilised patients.
You can wear anti embolism stockings. If they are not available, you can move the legs frequently in the flight.He can walk for few minutes.
