Question : I had protected oral sex with a stripper 3 and a half weeks ago, from what I can recall she was very cautious to never go beyond what the condom covered and after she let me take it off and wipe myself down with baby wipes that she provided. I went to test for HIV 3 days after and it came back negative, chlamydia and gonorrhea urine tests were submitted as well and they came back negative, I have no symptoms besides a very very faint pressure in the testicles that I am currently working really hard to convince myself it's just the anxiety. This started at most 2 days ago. I have been able to calm myself over and over but my anxiety is rising again. please help

Brief Answer:
Please be assured that you cannot get infected as it was protected oral sex

Detailed Answer:
Hi Liamgraham0719,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. In our last discussion, we had discussed your case in detail and had told you about certain tests to be done. I hope you have kept account of that and after 4 weeks are over you can go ahead with STD tests. I am sure these reports will also be normal as your partner and you have taken precautions and avoided direct sexual contact.

2. I understand your anxiety is high at the moment, please relax and know that you had protected sex with your partner and therefore there is absolutely no chance of HIV infection.

3. Whenever you have these thoughts, please do mind relaxation exercises, go for a short walk and talk to friends or start listening to music or reading a book.

4. We can continue further discussion on what is exactly causing the anxiety and try to find a positive solution to get your stress levels down.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek

Thank you once again for your prompt attention and response. There are just a couple of things that I would like to clarify:

1. I had shaved my pubic hair about 6 hours prior to the encounter.

2. I was at the very end of recovering from bronchitis, the only medication I was taking was one advil a day for inflammation in my throat due to coughing. I took it for 3 days straight before the encounter and I believe I took it one more time the morning after. I have not had any symptoms of flu or any of the sort since the day before the encounter.

As Herpes test is only 70% accurate after 3 months per our last discussion, and since her contact on me never involved anywhere on my body besides the condom covered area, is it acceptable to assume I was risk free?

Detailed Answer:
Hi Liamgraham0719,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. It is clearly mentioned that your partner did not go beyond your condom covered penis. Therefore transmission of HIV is completely ruled out. Herpes is almost totally ruled out too.

2. Shaving done 6 hours earlier will not have any actively bleeding wounds to cause transmission of infection.

3. You have never had cough or bronchitis in the following days till now therefore there is no suspicion of illness.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
