Question : I m a 27 year male and 10 days back I had protected oral sex with a csw girl. while performing oral sex she licked my scrotum several times. I m worried about that. will any std pass through that. after one day from exposure I m feeling very thirsty and my tongue is dry often and 7 days from exposure I am having a small red rash in thighs and inside penis. after ten days from exposure my thighs are having burning sensation . I have browsed the internet regarding red rashes and it shows rashes can be caused by genital herpes. Is there any chances for genital herpes from my exposure? Will herpes pass through when using condoms and scrotum licking. Kindly clarify doctor. Thanks in advance pls help me

Brief Answer:
Negligible chances of contracting an STD

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I can understand your concern but there are negligible chances of contracting an STD in your case as it was a protected sex in most of the part.
Licking scrotum carries a very less risk of STD if she was not having any oral mucosal lesion.
Your presentation is not of genital herpes as it presents with tiny painful blisters on the genitilia which rupture to form painful superficial ulcers and is usually associated with body aches, fever and fatigue.
Only redness doesn't account for herpes.
Herpes won't pass through condom.
With licking the chances of contracting herpes are only their if your sexual partner is having active herpes or history of herpes infection of the oral cavity and lips.
I hope to have answered your query and would be happy to clarify any further doubts.

Brief Answer:
These symptoms are not of herpes infection

Detailed Answer:
Rashes should be in the form of blisters and erosions to clarify for the diagnosis of herpes infection.
Only redness and burning doesn't fit into the diagnosis of herpes.
Moreover you were given steroid injection and antihistaminic injection and after that it is reducing so its not herpes.
If you still want to confirm that it is not herpetic infection, go for these tests: HSV 1 IgM , HSV 1 IgG, HSV 2 IgM and HSV 2 IgG.

Brief Answer:
Welcome

Detailed Answer:
Burning sensation in the legs and thighs can be due to intertrigo which is inflammation of the body folds or due to dermatitic reaction.
The injections you had didnot cause inflammation.
You can take the tests right now as it tells about past as well as present infection.
If you are having herpes infection they will be positive even now.

Thanks doctor. I am very much worried. From yesterday the rashes are increasing in numbers and now there are more than ten rashes in my body. Two in hands, two rashes near stomache, one in thighs, three rashes near chest area. Yesterday I went to a dermatologist and he enquired about me and sexual activities and he suspect the rashes to be scabies. He advised me to do a sypillis test and it came back as negative. And he advised Me to do a hiv elisa test due to my anxiety which came as 0.3 and neg. Is 0.3 in ten days from exposure a high value? Will it increase day by day? Pls advice me doctor. Now afternoon I noticed some rash like thing inside my mouth. I have attached the image of those. What's the reason for these rashes. Are these symptoms of hiv? Or herpes ? Kindly clarify doctor

Answered by Dr. Asmeet Kaur Sawhney (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Can be scabies, it's not herpes or hiv

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I have reviewed the attached photographs.
Values of Elisa are normal.
They won't increase day by day.
These rashes are not looking like herpes and hiv infection.
Looking at your abdominal pictures it can be scabies.
But the rashes in your mouth seem to be related to some vitamin b complex deficiency or tongue bite.
They don't look like herpes or hiv infection.
I would recommend you to go ahead with the scabies treatment prescribed by the doctor and see the response.
