Question : I had a low risk hiv exposure. I went to get a massage with a happy ending. 10 days later, i got a sore throat, and general tired feelings, but no fever. two days after that, I got better, but I got this strange, and random pink rash only on my right inner elbow. I know you are going to say I am not really at risk because of just a handjob, but would an hiv rash show up just on the inner elbow? I have seen a lot of mixed opinions on what this rash looks like. I would like to show you a picture of it as well
Brief Answer:
Rashes over elbow are not specific anyway to HIV.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
Having experienced at a massage parlor and hand job have a negligible risk for HIV.
Earliest manifestations of HIV can occur only 3-4 weeks after the high risk contact and in the presence of any HIV infection. Anything earlier than this can not be attributed to HIV infection.
Moreover there is no specific rash characteristics for HIV. Different type of rashes can occur at different stages due associated skin conditions, viral fevers and drug rashes. Your pink rashes have nothing to do with HIV.
Consult a dermatologist and get well soon.
