Question : Hi im a 42yr old male who NEVER been ill or exposed to any std's!
Got a new Girlfriend (38yr old) of a few months.
GF said at first due to her "believes" that she didnt want to have sex / either oral or physical till marriage...
And i respected that.....
So i proposed July 4th...and she said yes..
and with her answer...she also added that she has HPV...she got that since she was 22!
Which revealed the TRUE reason WHY she didnt want to have sex of any kind...prior to marriage!

however...i went to research HPV because i never heard of it.
Only to find out that its apparently also transferable via "french-kissing"...
is that TRUE?

because....even tho i understood her "believes" thing....weve been french kissing since day one...
amd i dont really feel like marrying er now....because of her lying about the TRUE reason.

question: will the HPV vaccine still help in prevention of all sort of cancers and warts since im obviously exposed? (terribly MAD about that!)

Brief Answer:
Can go ahead with vaccinations; kissing transmission is unlikely (rare)

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. There are many different types of HPV, but transmission through kissing is highly unlikely with most of them.

I do understand that you feel betrayed, and I would strongly recommend discussing it with her. If you both can have an honest discussion, and even after that if you feel the same amount of love for her, you should go ahead. But if you do not, then it is better to end it now, because things are only going to get worse with time if you do not sort things out now.

Yes, you can go ahead with the vaccination even now so please discuss that with your doctor. Please also feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.

I proposed because i do love her,..
marriage is meant to be for "the good and the bad"....
Sooo...together with her and my doctors...were looking for a medical solution....so that i wont get exposed despite of physical / oral sex...
However,....thusfar it seems un avoidable to get hpv if we proceed with marriage...
called off everything to do with marriage including the rings...for a few weeks till either a permanent SAFE solution shows up..or we break up.

Once again...thank you for ur rapid replies sir!
Cheers!

Brief Answer:
Deeply saddened; I am a sucker for love, so really sad

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

I am sorry if I am letting my feelings come in the way, but I am extremely disheartened by the change of events. I am sure you must be even more sad than I am right now.

I understand safely is most important and prime at this point in life and for your healthy future, but in a few cases (not always) couples have been able to live with each other without transmitting the infection. But these are extremely rare cases, and the infected individual has had to take extreme caution and be on medications as and when required to do so.

I would not want you both to live without each other when you both are in love; please have a detailed discussion with an infectious disease specialist to go about strict precautionary measures through which transmission can be avoided to the best level. If not, my deepest apologies for the sad turn of events.

Please do not ever hesitate to write to me for any further clarifications, or even ask your ex-fiance to write to me, if at all there is anything I can do to help keep the two of you together, safe and healthy.

Best wishes sir.
