What Are The Chances Of Gonorrhea Transmission Through Public Toilets?

default
Posted on Tue, 21 Jul 2015
Question: Hi I have been tested positive for gonnerea and I have not had any sexual inter corse including kissing dry sex nothing and have some questions on how I could of gotten this.
I had a abrasion cut/blister type thing near my vagina opening from shaving and my undies rubbing could of been possible because of this opening in the skin I could of got it from a public toilet seat?

Or I have used towel after someone that has gonnnerea, the towel still being damp used to wipe there vagina or penis and I have used it to wipe my vagina straight after?

Or I may have used one of my friends trackies with not having undies on and they have just taken them off and also didn't have undies on?

I'm just trying to think of any possible way this could of happened?

Brief Answer:
Sharing of intimate objects and clothing might rarely transmit gonorrhea

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease and transmitted by anal, vaginal or oral sex. It might also be spread by finger foreplay between partners or sharing sex toys.

2. Sitting on toilet seat is unlikely to transmit gonorrhea keeping and therefore the infection did not enter through the abrasion cut/blister type thing in vagina.

3. Sharing damp towels, inner clothes and razors might rarely transmit gonorrhea infection.

4. The good thing about gonorrhea is that it is completely curable with antibiotic medicines.

5. Please take complete antibiotic course for a week and you will get treated.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
