Question: Hi. I'm a XXXXXXX man who has been with a partner who has a one point been diagnosed with anal warts. He's only had such an outbreak once. I have had unprotected intercourse with him, but I have never had warts of any kind. It's been roughly almost a year and a half since the time of his out break and there has not been another one, and I continue to have no symptoms. In your opinion (again not asking advice but opinion), should I always assume that I have hpv, or is there a time when I have had no symptoms that I might be able to assume I've cleared it or won't spread it?

Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
Welcome to Health care magic.

Warts are usually benign .You need not worry.

It can be transmitted by skin to skin contact or as STDs.
They can have a variable incubation period from days to months.
As there has been no symptoms for more than a year, It appears that you are not infected with Warts virus (HPV). Once you are uninfected, you are unlikely to transmit it to others.
So you can allay fears of warts.
You can get back for any clarification.

After clearing the particular strain of infection from the partner I had, would I be immune to that strain? That is to ask, if I ever had encounter with him in the future, would I be at risk to getting the same type again or would I be immune? (Assuming I had it in the first place) Thank you Dr. Basti for your answers!
