What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After I Pill Intake Followed By Protected Sex?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Jun 2014
Question: I have a question, I have unprotected sex with my partner 2 days ago. But right after I found out the condom broke I went to the Walgreen and ask for Plan B One Step. Normally I supposed to have a period within 21-23 days, but now it has been 2-3 days that my period still hasn't come yet (I had unprotected sex before my period days should come for 2 days). What should I do? Will that be possible for me to take another pill? Thank you for your help!

Brief Answer:
Delay normal, no worries, not a pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking!
Since you had coitus with in the time frame where possibility of an egg is least likely plus you followed it with a condom though broke (still better than an unprotected one regarding the odds) followed by an emergency contraception so i would say the odds for pregnancy are pretty thin and it is normal for the periods to delay for many innocuous reasons and they may vary from 21 to 35 days in cycles. So that delay of a day or two is not an issue. As it has been 2 days or less than 72-96 hours i would say have another emergency contraception dose to be on the safer road.Try some other contraception like mifepristone too but better consult a gynecologist first. If the issue persists which i am sure it won't, seek a gynecologist nearby for further management.
