Brief Answer:
during ovulation

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
The size of the follicle is adequate to ovulate anytime. You should participate in regular sex to conceive.
However there is no way to determine the sex of a child by having sex at a certain time. Sex of a child is determined by which of the million or so sperm achieve fertilization when the sperm get to the ovulated egg in your Fallopian tube. Your ovulation usually occurs 14 days after the first day of your last period. Having sex every other day around that time gives you the best chance of fertilization and a successful pregnancy. Sperm can live in the female genital tract for 2-3 days at least.
Good luck
