Brief Answer:
Very low chances of pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Chances of pregnancy are very low in your case.
You were on the supposed safe period, when there are no chances of ovulation.
Plus, you have taken the I pill within 12 hours.
I would say chances of being pregnant are less than 5 % in your case.
It is not necessary for bleeding to occur after taking the I pill, it may happen or may not happen.
All you can do , is to take a pregnancy test 2 weeks after the unprotected sex happened.
Please do not take any more pills / medications, it will only worsen the situation.
All the best.
please feel free to discuss further.

Thanks Dr.

So if the bleeidng doesn't happen, what can be deduced from it? I am having no signs of it at all. I have taken 2 pills inthe gap of 12 hours. Can that delay the bleeding? And what impact it is to take two pills?

Does two makes it a stronger protection or reduces the effect?

Whether after two weeks, I should go for a home test or in in the lab for a blood test? Which one would be more accurate ?

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
If bleeding happens , or it does not happen - you can deduce nothing from it.
It just indicates withdrawal bleed to the high hormones present in the pill, and nothing else.
It is not related to pregnancy in any manner.
Two pills are unnecessary, that is all.
one pill is enough to protect against pregnancy.
It does not make it a stronger protection, it does not reduce the effect.
After two weeks, you can go for a home test.
A blood test is more accurate , but a home test is sufficient to detect pregnancy.

Okay, I shall go for a blood test and home test both.

In general, does bleeding happens after the intake of the pill?

Brief Answer:
Bleeding may or may not happen.

Detailed Answer:
Bleeding may happen, or may not happen.
It differs from woman to woman, it is your body's individual response to the pill.
You should not attach much importance to it.
Just take a test after 15 days, a home test is enough.
Take care.

thanks Dr for the answer . I know I must be asking really silly questions and I truly appreciate you taking timeout and answering my questions.

I am having a white discharge at the moment. I had this white discharge problem few months back and I took ayurvedic med for it. I was told by that docthat I shouldn't eat anything that's hot in nature. It's there again now-not much but it'sthere. What reason could be for it-i-pill?Or something else? I don'tthink I can do test right now as it would not be correct.

Please help.

Brief Answer:
White discharge is due to I pill

Detailed Answer:
You are not asking silly questions.
It is natural that you would be anxious, and you can ask as many questions as you want, without any hesitation or doubt.
White discharge is common during certain time of the menstrual cycle, during arousal when engaged in intercourse, or after taking hormonal pills such as the I pill.
Please do not test right now, there is no point, it will not be reliable.
Wait for atleast 15 days after intercourse happened.
Take care.

I am just so tensed after reading when you said , it may or may not. I haven't got any bleeding but this discharge is there which I thought is due to the intake of the pills. *Sigh*

yes, shall go for the test but for it , still 11 more days to go.

Brief Answer:
Just do not get worked up

Detailed Answer:
There is no point in getting tensed.
I said in my first reply - chances of pregnancy are less than 5 %.
Just do not try and attach meaning to white discharge, bleeding etc.
You will only know after taking the pregnancy test.
So what is the point of worrying until then ?
Take care.!
