What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Taking Emergency Contraceptives?

Question: i m 32 yrs old. had intercourse yesterday and condom broke. took EC within 6-7 hrs. what are the chances of pregnancy. the first of my MC was 14 aug and the cycle period is 28-29 days. can i take another EC tonight for precaution or one is enough..?

You can take second I -pill with in 24 hrs. after taking 1st I -pill ( only it is effective with in 24 hrs.after 24 hrs. no use of this tablet).
If I- pill is taken with in 12 hrs of unprotected sex then it is 95% effective, so chances of pregnancy are very less in your case.

thank u dr. i had intercourse on 21 aug after which by night 9 pm i took the first pill.. the duration of taking pill was 6-7 hrs after intercourse.after ur reply today i.e 22 aug i took second pill as well in afternoon by 3.30pm. so i hope there was sufficient duration between the two pills. is there anything i need to worry about now..???
