Question : I had a vasectomy about seven months ago. I followed up with semen testing 30 days after, which was zero sperm count. A week ago my wife told me she is pregnant. I went back to the urologist, who did an additional sperm test and again confirmed that I have a zero sperm count.
My wife has taken two urine pregnant test, on separate days, that both show that she is pregnant. Is there any other conceivable reason, other than the obvious that she had sex with someone else, that two pregnancy test would be showing a false positive. She is more than 30 days late on her menstrual cycle also, if that has any bearing. The only medication she regularly takes is ambien.

Brief Answer:
confirm pregnancy, repeat semen analysis, DNA testing.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your situation.
First is to confirm her pregnancy.
The probability of having false positive pregnancy tests twice is less.
However, as she is 30 days late on her menses, you can confirm her pregnancy by ultrasound.
Second is to go for semen analysis again.
In my opinion, you should go for repeat semen analysis from a different lab to confirm earlier results again.
Third, DNA testing can help to solve the paternity issues, if any.
I do not think ambien can cause false positive pregnancy tests.
Hope this is of some help to you.
Feel free to ask further.
Thanks.
