Question : Respected Ma’m
I am a married women and my age is 48 years.
My period stopped since last six months.
I don’t had any problem during period and also after stopping period since last six months.
We have two children 24 years Boy and 17 years Girl.
I made physical relation with my husband on 04.06.2015 at 13:10 IST after a gap of 4 months (as he was out of station) without using any pills or any precaution. My husband also didn’t use condom.
Now, I would like to know that is there any chance to conceive pregnancy in this situation, as my monthly period was stopped since last 6 months. If there is a chance, we both are not interested for third child at this stage of life.
Therefore, please suggest for medication or whatever else, to avoid this pregnancy, if it could be suspected.
Thanks and regards. XXXXXXX

No need of contraception.

Hi Mam,

I understand your concern.

You seem to have menopausal state, since there is no period for almost 6 months.

There is a highly unlikely possibility for pregnancy at this stage.

Based on these facts, you do not need any contraception as of now.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.

If this mean, that the pregnancy can be conceived, please give me your valuable suggestion to avoid this pregnancy.

Actually we did not want pregnancy. If there is high chance of pregnancy, Please tell me the solution at the earliest , so that pregnancy can not be conceived.

Brief Answer:
Urine Pregnancy test and Transvaginal ultrasound will be most helpful.

Detailed Answer:

Hi Ma'am,

Welcome again,

I advise you to get a Urine Pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.

Also a Trans vaginal ultrasound will detect gestational sac if present within 14 days post sex.

Pregnancy is very much unlikely in your case.

But anyways you can get the above two tests.

Even Medical termination of pregnancy in the form of pills can be taken within 2-3 months of pregnancy.

So do not worry, review with reports.

Post your further queries if any,

Thank you.

Dear Ma'm
One more question.
For medical termination of pregnancy, please tell me the name of pills and dose. I will use it, if pregnancy found positive in urine report.

Brief Answer:
Urine pregnancy test can be done 7-9 days post sex.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,

Welcome again,

Urine pregnancy test can show positive results within 7-9 days post sex.

You need to use Mifeprestone 200 mg followed by vaginal Misoprostol 400 micro gms after 48 hrs.

Note:These medication needs strict medical prescription of your doctor.
